Regina Sokas has done something wonderful here. Working through her grief after the unexpected, premature death of her brother, Patrick, she has assembled a sampling of his writings and augmented them with poems inspired by Patrick's prose, as well as artwork evocative of the diverse subject matter. Patrick, who was my best friend throughout most of our lives, was an intellect and wit of awe-inspiring proportions. He was the funniest person I have ever known, and one of the smartest. He is sorely missed. With this effort, Regina has brought him back to life for a bit. I am grateful to her.I think that even if you did not know Patrick, you will be touched and inspired by this work of love and art. Patrick's writings are fresh and pointed many years after their original publication in various newspapers; and the poetry is often lovely and surprising.
