I thought this was a great book. I bought the audio version but I've noticed the next book in the series hasn't been translated to English. Why? I'd like to know what happens next. I was intrigued by the story and couldn't stop listening. I have a feeling if I could read French I wouldn't be able to put the next book down. Amazon, please translate the others books into English. I want to know what happens next!!! I'll buy it if you'll translate it.Product details

Samantha Watkins Is action packed from beginning to end. There interaction with humans and vampires. Lets you see that vampires have set rules and enforcers, to protect humans, and keep vampire society secret from humans. This book leaves you wanting to read the next book.
This was a good story that kept me up much later than I should have been two nights in a row. However, be forewarned that there is a cliffhanger and that those of us who need an English edition will be left waiting. I looked at the author's page on . It appears that there are four books in this series in French. No word on when English editions on next three installments will be forthcoming, if at all.
I chose this rating because I couldn't put it down. The vampires and humans together in this made for a thrilling and suspenseful story. The relationship between the two main characters was so strong that I felt I needed to finish the book just to see how their relationship evolved. Then it leaves me hanging at the end. Aurelie, please put the other story that follows in English. I can't wait to read it.
WOW! If you enjoy vampire romance, you're going to love this one. Totally different than previous stories of the genre.
Extremely well written and developed, the story will grab you and hold you until the last page.
As another reviewer said, the story is more in the mood of Stephanie Myer than any other author of this type of fiction. The characters are all individuals with different personalities, motivations and ambitions, whether human or vampire.
While I do see a rather trite situation building, I.e. "I love him, but he doesn't feel the same so I can't tell him." And "I love her, but she could never love me, so I can't tell her"; the personalities are strong and interesting enough that I believe that journey will be very intriguing.
Just hope that the next story won't take too long to be translated.
I loved the book. I didn't want to put the book down until I finished.
As a disclaimer the main character is very inexperience with relationships so the romance part of the story is ......slow....cant think of the correct words. Perhaps almost non existent or a bit dysfunctional would work better. It isn't a lack of writing skill but a part of the story. I thought I would throw that in there as a few of the negative reviews I saw seemed to need more romantic action than this book has.
I tend to be a little concerned when I buy a book originally wrote in a different language, a bad translation can ruin a story. I cant confirm the accuracy of the translation but the story reads smoothly and is well edited......so as far as I am concerned the translation was well done.
To the Author Please translate the other books as soon as possible....I will buy them as soon as they are available. Its horrible to see the rest of the story finished but to have it be in a language I cannot read.
Interesting story, guess I was lulled into the "helpless female" turned into fighting machine but still very vulnerable with occasional bursts of emotions. But I did not see this ending coming, well done. You have made a potential fan Aurelie Venem. Do we get to see Book two written in English ? Please.

I was unsure just how much I would like this book. It was from an unknown author and had clearly been translated into English. It was the title that caught my eye.
I was extremely pleased when my concerns turned out to be unfounded. The story is compelling and engrossing with just enough revealing of secrets to keep me interested. I could not see any place that suffered from translation problems.
I've read a lot of stories with vampires and I would have to say these vampires are the standard used in many books. They have speed and strength and of course immortality (what self-respecting vampire would be without his eternal life). The sun is a big no-no and they can bleed when injured. Nothing like the vampires in Stephenie Meyer's Twilight series.
The story has two main threads. The first is our heroine, Samantha Watkins, losing our old life and being forced to find a way to fit into the vampire world. The second thread is the mystery element which I will not go into since I don't wish to spoil the story for anyone. The author does an excellent job of weaving both threads together.
For myself, this was a book that was hard to put down.
