This book was very good as it had several sex scenes, fight scenes & a good vs bad plot. But, to find out more about what trials Ian goes through to find that his love had been with him all the time & watching him during the day you'll have to read this book for yourselves.

Kerrelyn makes me laugh! I love the way she writes with her Vampires having a sense of humour, it makes the stories a lot more fun to read, why be serious all the time? Reading her books is like watching a movie play out in your head. With Roman and Shannas' story line, Laszlo reminds mean of a clumsy Don Knotts vampire style, Laszlo and the life size doll Vanna, in the trunk of the car! Laszlo playing with his buttons till they all fall off, Roman and his broken fang! OMG, I was reading the beginning of 'How to Marry a Millionaire Vampire' in bed and laughed so hard I almost fell out! Only one complaint, I stay up to late reading these books on my cause 'I canna put them down' LOL. Already 'Christmas' (forgive the short-cut) is making me laugh.
This book had a funny premise so I thought I would try it from the regular angst riddled regular vampires. I was so excited that I read it in six hours. I love Shanna and Roman. It was funny and really interesting. The story (if you can believe a romance novel has one) expands through the remainder of the series. I love how all the characters show up in future books so you can always keep up with this original couple. I also liked how the main vampire has a huge support network. The vampires in this series are pretty traditional of modern vamp storytelling (stake through the heart turns to dust, sleeps during the day, drinks blood and burns in sunlight) so that was a little disappointing. I was looking for a 24/7 vamp that was invincible like the legendary vamps. Either way I wasn't disappointed in the story even though it was predictable. I recommended it to my friends and we're all hooked.
Pulled me in within the first few pages. The vampire, Ian, has a Scottish accent and the author's writing is such that you can hear the accent in your mind while reading. Kept me interested from beginning to end. So much that I've started reading the entire series.
I recomend this book for all vampire romance lovers. This book isn't just page on page of smut, like some novels, #5 focuses on the actual relationship and the relatable problems of the characters. One searching for love, the other wanting love but it not no.1 on her list of things to do.

Since the first book I've been wanting Ian to have his shot at love. And I was glad it wasn't on a Vamp talk show/ dating competition. I could see the storyline potential from the start and here it is! Nice, believable, and constantly adorable characters. I'm a combination of Irish and Scottish and i love the accents. Even if they're written.

On the first pages it shows how Ian (now fully grown from a young teen) doesn't even know how to properly flirt. A very unique begining for a romance. Tie in a cool plot and good pacing and you get an excellent KS book.

On a personal note, having a character by the name of Brianna (my name) in the story made it a little weird but the humor, sense of danger, and possiblility of eternal love kept me reading till the end.

I ve read better since then, but i have to say that when i started reading the series "Love at stake", i got completly caught up in it. The story is quite interesting, funny, coherent, very entertaining and moreish. The characters personalties and physics as well as the places, scenes and actions are all well described and easy to picture, espacially the sex scenes, which i particularly appreciated! LOL! And literally loved the kilts!
I haven't found any repetitions or spelling mistakes (not that i m an expert anyway) as i have in some other books.
Despite the emotional rollercoaster effect that the books had on me , i found a bit odd that some whatever hundred years old bad ass vampires who had all been single for all their life would all of a sudden all fall madly in love one after the other, just like that at first sight, and would commit to an eternal relationship with a mate after not even a week sometimes. But i guess it s part of the game! Yeah i liked it.
Toni had had a terrible childhood and so did Ian. Toni's friend, Sabrina, is stuck in a sanatorium so her uncle can keep all her money. Toni needs to get her out. In her efforts, she gets in a bad spot, but is saved by good vampires. She even gets a job with them where she meets Ian. She asks Ian to help her with Sabrina. Working together to help Sabrina they she begins falling for him, but she doesn't know if he is as well. This is an exciting story with fight scenes, evil vampires, magic, and romance. The characters are unique and complex.
Thank goodness, at last, a story that's novel length. I cant stand short stories parading as novels. The two main characters are charismatic, the dialogue is believable, each cast member has his/her own distinct personality. No editorial mistakes that struck me.
I got this book a long time ago but didn't review it. Now, on a re-read, I've enjoyed it very much. Though I've read the earlier books, I couldn't really remember many of the characters; the old memory banks were required to work overtime on this book.
