I have enjoyed all the Hot Seals books by Cat Johnson.She has created this close-knit group of SEALs, some of whom are retiring and beginning to work in their own company GAPS., which is realistically, slowly, getting off the ground. This story is about Chris, retired SEAL and friend of former SEAL Rick,who lives with his sister Darci. Chris has it bad for Darci but she only seems to see Sane, who has fallen, finally, for an old friend. Darcy thinks Chris is just a joker, a friend, until she accompanies him on a supposedly easy mission as his date cover, and sees him in action (both in and out of bed). Once they get together they sizzle, but she thinks he's not the commitment type. There's a scary yacht trip and then an ultimatum from Chris to Darci. Great story, continuing with the same great group of friends by the same great author. Well worth reading.

I have no idea why the hero has any interest in the heroine at all. She is shallow, vain and completely self centered, but we are supposed to believe the H is crazy about her. I am all for suspending belief in reading some stories, but this was too much of a stretch. The only person more irritating is her idiot brother. Will not be reading his story.
Chris is in love with his best friends sister, Darci. She thinks she's in love with his other best friend Zane! Darci likes Chris, he's a jokester & makes her laugh, she doesn't take him seriously. Guardian Angel Protection gets a job in the FL Keys but Chris is the only available agent to go. Darci offers to be his other set of eyes on the trip. Darci & Chris tiptoe around the feelings they are feeling for each other at first. Until, she kisses him on the dance floor! That night, they spend in bed together, but the next morning, she informs that after the trip, no one needs to know about them & they can go on with their lives as acquaintances! Now he's pissed, she doesn't even consider him a friend? A booty call is all she wants him for? He will spend the next three days, showing her why they both deserve more than that! Now out at sea for a dinner on a yacht, trouble has found the party. Pirates have taken over the yacht & Darci is in the midst. Can Chris save her & the rest of the guests? Will he convince her they are meant to be together? Will Darci find that Chris is giving her a chance at real love? How will her brother Rick take the news? Bro code and all? Cat Johnson is amazing with words & her stories bring you into the lives of her characters. This series is the third one I have had the privilege of reading & they just keep getting better! I loved this & every book I the series so far!
My Musings

I enjoyed Kissed by a SEAL by Cat Johnson. Since it is a short book, it can be difficult to fully develop the story and the character. Ms. Johnson does this very well. I'm glad she had the hero and heroine already acquaintances. That made the romance that blossoms between them much more believable.

Chris is a great character. He has all the ingredients needed, good looks, bravery, and a certain vulnerability, which I enjoyed a great deal. That vulnerability is what I found most appealing. Most ex-SEALs rarely show that in their character in most of the military romances I've read with a SEAL.

I also enjoyed Darci. She is an uncomplicated character, but sweet young woman. There could have been a bit more character building to add some depth to her that would have enhanced the romance between her and Chris.

Now, let's talk the sexual scenes, they were smokin' hot. Their passion burned my ears and heated my . The chemistry becomes sizzling as the story progresses.

All in all, this is an enjoyable read. The suspense angle is very well-written and believable as well, and kept the pacing fast. While there is not much conflict, I found that refreshing because sometimes there is too much of that and it drags out the story.

I thoroughly enjoyed the narrative by Craig Jessen. It truly brought the characters to life. He managed Chris' southern drawl with easy along with the other characters in this book. I'll be looking for more books narrated by Mr. Jessen!

If you enjoy a hot romance between a gorgeous Navy SEAL with plenty of great love scenes, then you will enjoy Kissed by a SEAL. I know I did. Happy reading!
